Privacy policy

Your data. Your rules.

UniMetrica is a UK-based lead-generation service for higher education. We match students with universities; partner universities pay us when we introduce them to a good-fit applicant. This page explains - in plain English - what we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.

What we collect

  • Profile data - your predicted grades, subject interests, region preferences, career goal, budget, and other info you give us during onboarding.
  • Contact data - name, email, and (optionally) phone number and postcode.
  • Sensitive data - we do not knowingly collect special-category data (ethnicity, health, etc.).
  • Usage data - pages visited, matches viewed, and timestamps for auditing consent decisions.

How we use it

  • To calculate your university matches and show them to you.
  • To provide account features (prep tools, personal statement feedback, streaks).
  • To send you information you've opted into: course updates, deadline reminders, scholarship opportunities.
  • To share your profile with universities only if and when you've given explicit consent.

Who we share with - and why we get paid

UniMetrica is free to students because we have commercial relationships with UK universities and higher-education providers. When you opt in to sharing, we send your profile to universities that match your preferences, and they pay us a fee for the introduction.

We nevershare your data with universities you haven't matched with, and you can revoke consent at any time from your settings. You'll always see the full ranked list of UK universities - not just paying partners.

We may also share data with essential service providers (hosting, email delivery, analytics) under strict data-processing agreements.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct any data that's inaccurate.
  • Delete your account and all associated data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Withdraw any consent at any time, with one click.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Use the settings page or email privacy@unimetrica.com to exercise any of these rights.

Under-16 users

If you are under 16, UK GDPR requires a parent or guardian to consent to data processing on your behalf. We ask you to confirm parental consent at signup, and we limit the data we share with third parties for under-16 users.
